Norcia black

Nero Norcia is the most important eno-gastronomic exhibition in Umbria, where the city of Norcia becomes the protagonist in the last weekend of February and in the first of March since the 50s.
The city, thanks to its position and its drained and porous soil, becomes the cradle of the black diamond, but not only; this National Market Exhibition of the Black Truffle and typical products, will also try to make people discover the flavors of the Italian regions.
The stage is divided between the truffle with which we will try to amaze visitors with tastings thanks to skilful culinary combinations, and the "Norcinerie", where it is possible to taste not only an excellent raw ham but also excellent sausages.
Among mountains of products, the visitor is led to reflect on issues that are important for the territory: from the protection of the truffle to the protection of the jewels of the Valnerina. There are many other proposals on the program, such as photographic exhibitions, theatrical performances, live demonstrations of cheese, pork and wrought iron processing.
There are also twinnings with other Italian realities, always for the enhancement of typicality; and exhibitions at the Palazzo della Castellina.
