Deposition from the Cross "Scavigliazione"

On Holy Thursday in the Cathedral of San Rufino, after the Missa in Coeana Domini, the Deposition from the Cross or Scavigliazione is commemorated.
At the singing of the lauds of the time, a XNUMXth century crucifix is ​​detached from the cross and placed in a bier where it is venerated by the faithful, and which the next day will be carried in procession through the streets of the city going down towards the Basilica of San Francesco after it will be left for the whole day until night falls until it will be brought back in procession to the Cathedral of San Rufino.
