Considered one of the most beautiful villages in Italy Piediluco is a small fraction of Terni that rises on the shores of the homonymous lake. The small town dates back to the Bronze Age as demonstrated by archaeological excavations and then passed under Roman rule in the third century. Only in the nineteenth century did it reach notoriety thanks to its addition between the stages of Grand Tour.
On the top of Monte Luco there is the Rocca Albornoz, an ancient Spoleto outpost, of which only a few rooms remain intact. villalago, summer residence of Baron Eugenio Franchetti, is a perfect destination for relaxing and organizing picnics thanks to the large green area that surrounds it and the splendid view of the lake. Other attractions not to be missed include the Church of San Francesco, the Town Hall, Palazzo Poiani and the Palazzo del Podestà.
